Orientation August 22-28

Hello students and welcome to Counseling 120, College and Career Success! Take a look at my video introduction above.

This class is especially useful for those of you who want to understand yourself better and choose a major and career that matches your gifts and talents. The class also meets a general education requirement for transfer to state universities. If this is your first class in college, you are off to a good start. If you are a continuing student, there are some great benefits. You will become familiar with some new learning tools that will make your future education easier.

Since the course is online, you can do the work anytime or any place during the week. For best results, be sure to set aside time for working on this class each week and not wait until the last minute to do the work. I look forward to working with all of you this semester.

Please make 2 postings this week.  Each posting should be a minimum of 100 words.

1. For the first posting, introduce yourself by telling us about your interests, hobbies and what is important in your life, and maybe share a photo or video of yourself.  See my introduction below.

2.  As your second posting, tell us about your educational journey.  Where did you attend school before?  Why you are taking this class and what are your goals and dreams for the future? What is your current educational goal? See my educational journey below.

You can also comment on other students' postings.

Marsha Fralick’s Introduction
Here is an example of a 100 word introduction:
I am your professor for Counseling 120. I retired from Cuyamaca College where I worked from 1978-2007 as a counselor and instructor for this course. I play many roles in life. I am a Grandmother with 3 young granddaughters. I enjoy taking care of them frequently and watching them grow. My own children are grown up and have their own careers and homes. I have my own business and work with colleges across the country in training faculty to teach college success courses.  I am also the author of your textbook.  In my leisure time I enjoy traveling and being active.

Marsha Fralick’s Educational Journey

Here is an example of a 100 word posting.
I attended a small country high school in New Mexico and was a good student. When I went to the University of New Mexico, I found that it was a whole new world and I was not prepared for it. I struggled to be successful in college and had to learn how to listen to lectures, take notes and prepare for exams. I also had uncertain career goals. When I started working at a college, I remembered those years that I struggled and decided to invent a course that would help students to be successful. It has been a fun and rewarding adventure for the last 33 years.

  1. My name is **Tiffany Vancil** (despite my Google ID) and I'm a 38 year old divorced mother of one 7 year old boy. I work full time in insurance claims investigations, and bartend on the weekends. I volunteer with a local greyhound rescue, and enjoy making fun crafts like tiki bar decor and hair flowers; and am trying to learn how to sew. Despite my busy schedule, I've managed to cram in 12 units this semester. I wish I could add a photo, but there doesn't appear to be an option to do this. Nice to meet you all!

    1. Unfortunately, it appears my above post is only 99 words, and not the required 100, so allow me to add the fact that I enjoy 80s cult films and instrumental surf rock. I love sushi and indian cuisine, but don't like raw onions in my food and am really trying to like brussels sprouts; my best friend is on a mission with me, and has been experimenting with different recipes hoping I'll like one. As an aside, I'm a polynesian and tiki cocktail expert, and have a private event bartending service called Tiki on the Rocks which is starting to take off. Surely I'm at about 200 words by now!

    Educational Journey
A Facebook group was created last year for my former high school classmates to start planning our 20 year reunion. 20 years? I anticipated attending that reunion and describing to old friends what I had been up to in the past 20 years. Well, I had gotten married, then divorced, have held about 18 different jobs, and rented a house in Paradise Hills. I work a couple jobs with little stability, and really didn't have much to show for my life except a bunch of stories about partying throughout my 20s.

I wasn't impressed with my life assessment thus far, and knew I was capable of much more for myself, so I enrolled at Cuyamaca College; my first semester was Spring 2016. I have 12 units under my belt thus far, and a 4.0 GPA. I told the registrar that I intended to work on an AS in Paralegal Studies, only because it is very similar to what I do now for work. I'm not passionate about it. I like law, but I don't love it.

I'm just trudging through GE for now until I figure it all out. I have no academic plan, and am really not sure I'm even taking the right classes. I read about this class on the Cuyamaca website, and thought, "YES!!! THIS IS WHAT I NEED!" So here I am. I hope to get a clearer idea on my academic plan, major, and career goals, and I think this is the place to do it.

  6. Sara Haynes' Introduction
I am a happily married wife and the mommy of three young children. I work part time at a preschool, and love my job. I am an active member at church. Family is very important to me. We live less than a mile from my parents, and my siblings and their families all reside in San Diego County. I treasure the time we spend together—and the beautiful chaos that occurs when the 8 little cousins get together at their Grandma’s house to play. I love living in San Diego and though it has been my home since I was 10 years old, I never tire of exploring this beautiful city. Strawberry lemonade, sunset walks with my husband, and a refrigerator door plastered in kids’ art are just a few of my favorite things.

  7. Sara Haynes'Educational Journey (or lack thereof)
I graduated high school in 2009. The first college courses I took were in Child Development, because children are my favorite people. After completing 12 units in Early Childhood Education, I was hired as a preschool aide and kissed college goodbye. I loved the job and have worked there ever since. So much has changed for me these past 5+ years (like getting married and having 3 kids!) One change in particular is my new desire to complete a degree. I am eager to expand my knowledge and gain opportunities by returning to school. I am nervous but excited about being a student again. I signed up for this course because I hoped it would help me gain confidence and tools in this new endeavor.

  9. Jacalyn Shirley Introduction

My name is Jacalyn and I am a full time student and mother of two. I’m currently pregnant with my third child and due in about a month (September 27)! This will prove to be an interesting semester for me, managing my two kids, a newborn, and a full course load, but I feel confident and look forward to the challenge. My husband and kids are of the highest priority of me, and going back to school is another way I am taking care of them. I teach my kids that the only thing that will stop them is their own fear of trying and having them witness my academic journey has been the best reinforcement of that lesson.

    1. Congratulations on the soon to be new baby! I am a mother of one baby girl and she will be turning 2 on September 28th! They just might share a birthday! Good luck with your labor, I hope it is easy and quick. I agree it would be interesting to juggle school and even one child, as I am doing that and find it difficult. I really hope all goes well and you make it through the semester! Us mamas are tough and can do a lot!

  10. Jacalyn Shirley Educational Journey

I graduated High School in 2002 and went off the college at UCSC. Unfortunately, my heart wasn’t in my academics and I dropped from UCSC before my first semester was over. I came back home to San Diego, began working full time and found great success in real estate administration and back-end support. In 2006, my first child was born. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but with work and kids, felt the process to achieving this goal was too lengthy, expensive, and frankly, impossible! For all the years I put off going back to school, I would be done by now if I’d started then. With the birth of my third child only a month away, I don’t want to put off my lifelong goals any longer. This is important for me personally, and for my family.

  12. Sandra Brikho Educational Journey

I recently just graduated from Steele Canyon high school. My original choice for college was Point Loma Nazarene University but I decided the cost of tuition was too much to burden my parents with. I am excited to continue my educational journey here at Cuyamaca college and finish it at SDSU as a Business major. Once I graduate my goal is to find a job that will allow me to live a comfortable lifestyle. When everything settles in I would like to open various types of businesses with the help of family and savings. I have recently started classes for my realtors license in hopes to also work in commercial real estate. I am taking this class because the content interests me. My main goal in life is to be happy, healthy, and build a family of my own in the near future.

  13. Intro
Hi, my name is Manuel Juarez, but everyone just calls me manny for short. I used to be in the IT field since the age of 18 to 22 year old. I was doing sub contracts for a company called Intuit which is a software company most know for their Turbo Tax program. I was also doing work for other companies but my main work was with Intuit. From working at Intuit I became self aware and open my eyes to greater opportunities; however, a degree was needed to get up the echelons of success. I recalled walking into the employee's offices and scoping out their degree placed neatly on the wall next to their other great achievements. At the same time I started picking up book on personal growth. As my mind became aware of its surrounding I started seeing and questioning everything in my life. Was I happy? Is this what I want to do with my life? Why did I drop out of high school? Is what I would tell myself. Life for me became mundane, so I made a drastic decision and not just a short decision but a long term decision to get my G.E.D then attend college. I scored below low level for math and English. I remember my first semester at Cuyamaca and knowing that I was taking lower lever classes gave me shameful felling. I felt like incompetent. After My fist semester, I notice that I couldn't travel like my job wanted so I had to quit my IT job. While in my first semester, my mind was made up that I was going for a degree in computer engineer. Now that I'm taking differential math, linear math and physics I change my degree. I will go for a physics or math degree. So far college has been fun for me. I made friends by joining the student government at school and I'm amazed that I'm about to finish all my math classes required to transfer and to think that I started at the lowest math level. Overall I'm motivated to succeed and made learning an everyday thing by reading books in every subject. I'm excited and ready for this semester.

    1. WOW! That's really inspirational, Manny. From where you began, to where you are now, especially in the math classes. 14. Educational Journey
What can I say about my educational journey. I dropped out of high school. I was never into school. I hated school. School was dreadful, felt like a chore that had to be done, but done half heartily. I started college two years ago and scored low in my placements test that I was place in the beginner level in math and English. I'm proud of myself at the moment. I started at basic math and now I'm taking differential math and linear. I worked hard to passed all my classes with A's. I actually enjoy school. The best choice that I made while being in school was to join a club. Why? Because in clubs you find students that are not just passengers and what I mean by that is students that are not involve in school, students that just go to class and are in a hurry go home that mentality is like a get rich scheme thinking. In clubs you meet students that go to school, but see the opportunity to make acquaintances and build a repertoire of connections. Now I see school as the more you put in into school the more rewarding school will become. I want to transfer to USCD or SDSU and told myself that I will try my best to get the highest degree possible that I can in whatever major I decide to go into which it's going to be physics or math. I'm just starting my journey. I'm feel like there is more to learn and more people that I will meet alone the way that will also help me in my educational journey.

I am eighteen years old and graduated from Grossmont High School this past June. I am a huge soccer fan and have been playing since I was about six years old, and have had the privilage of playing with a top flight club team for almost eight years, ranked in the top 50 teams in the country. Now as an incoming freshman I am hoping to make an impact on the team here at Cuyamaca as a right midfielder. In addition to soccer, a hobby of mine is collecting and using old film cameras. I was given one by my grandparents about a year and a half ago, and have been fascinated with them ever since.

I am a recent graduate of Grossmont High school. This is my first year of college, and my goal is to earn my associates degree in Graphic Design or Computer science (One or the other, I'm not totally decided yet, although I am definitely leaning towards computer science as it is a thriving field of work) and transfer to a four year university, San Diego State or UC Davis to be exact. I am taking this class in order to hopefully prepare myself better for the added rigour of college courses, as I must admit I do not have the best study habits.

I am currently working at DICKS sporting goods at Parkway Plaza if you wanna stop by and say hey!
    Academic journey:
I actually started school in Tecate Baja California. I moved to San Diego when I was just 6 years old, and started locally at Vista Grande. I learned how to speak English in that short year and now I am both fluent in English as well as Spanish. Ever since I was little I haven't had a passion for school until I got to my senior year in high school. I fell in love with school and I hope to feel this way after college.

Through out these last few years I have devoted myself to them 100% up until April of 2015 when I set out to complete the Wic peer counseling training program. Since then I have been spending some of my free time supporting breastfeeding mommies through out their nursing journeys in hopes of helping them successfully achieve their nursing goals. 21. Educational Journey:
Well, I graduated from Rosa Parks Elementary and I then went on to graduate from Monroe Clarke Middle School. After that things started to go down hill from there. During high school my family and I went through hardship after hardship that left me constantly switching high schools. I have been to Hoover, Granite high, Chaparral High and even an adult charter school just to name a few. I finally settled back at hoover where I participated in the independent study program in hopes of getting my credits faster but unfortunatly my hope of receiving my high school diploma ended there when my mom had to have emergency surgery and I dropped out to take care of her during her recovery. Shortly after that I got pregnant with my first child who then motivated me to earn my GED. Two kids later and my focus was no longer on my education but more so on my family. I love helping others when ever I can but I tend to put every one else and their needs above mine. It was recently that I came across this quote by L.R.Knost "Taking care of myself doesn't mean 'me first' It means 'me, too.'" and here I am beginning my journey in college! Not only because I deserve to live a life that I can be proud of, but because my kids deserve a life that they can feel secure in! I owe them that much and I want them to see that mommy never gave up on her dreams in hopes that they will never give up on theirs.

  22. Hi everyone! My name is Michelle Pendergrass, but I go by Marley, have been called that by others for almost 8 years now. I recently got married to my middle school sweetheart in April and we have an almost 2 year old little girl named Mackynzee. I just started getting back into school after having a rough start to college after graduating high school. I guess you oould say I had a "new adult crisis". I left college to start hitchhiking the country and have seen more than half of the states. I even traveled to Alaska for a winter. I was apart of many of the "Occupy" movements and have found myself now wanting to get a career that will help me give back to mother nature. I am currently working towards my Ornamental Horticulture certificate, with hopes that I can eventually find a job working in the Department of Forestry somewhere in Oregon. I am very excited to be back in school and excited to take this class and find out more about myself. I hope everyone has a great semester and it is a pleasure to meet you all!

  23. Educational Journey- I went to high school here in Spring Valley at Steele Canyon High School. I did very well there, graduating with honors and high hopes for my future. I took a couple of semesters at Cuyamaca, with a few courses at Grossmont. I also was playing volleyball for the Coyotes. I started to crack under all of the pressure and found myself not showing up to any classes halfway through the semester and receiving F's. I also attempted to take online courses for San Diego City College and still found myself struggling and received less than par grades. I always knew I would eventually get back to my education, but it took a lot of soul searching and traveling and making lifetime memories before I felt I was ready to focus again. I am 25 now and a mother to a beautiful baby girl and I am determined to get a degree or certificate and find a life long career that I love so I can provide for my daughter and any future children I may have. I am currently going to start working for my Ornamental Horticulture certificate/degree with hopes of finding a job with the Department of Forestry in Oregon. I hope this class teaches me a lot and I can manage to finish them all the way through!

Another reason why I chose this, is because my father is a civil engineer as well and he inspires me the most. He is my role model and he is willing to help me at any time in my college career. I also enjoy being in the field more than sitting behind a desk and punching number in. I am hoping to transfer next fall to sdsu as a civil engineer and get my bachelor's degree from them as an aztec.

I graduated from Steele Canyon High School in 2015. Everyone says college is better but I really wish I can go back to high school. My goal is to get my associates degree from Cuyamaca then transfer to SDSU and major in interior design. I wanted to major in fashion design but FIDM was just too expensive and my parents were not in favor of me living on my own in a different city. I am taking this class because it required for me to transfer. I hope to gain a lot from this class so I can be successful in my future plans.

The sport to have the biggest impact on my life was lacrosse. Day and night I thought about how fortunate I was to discover a sport that can make me so happy and, as a captain, I've learned how to give back to others in ways I have never seen before. Also in high school, I was a member of ASB, Random Acts of Kindness, Forces of Nature, and president of the National Honor Society. These are the most important clubs to me because they have brought me to meet an endless amount of extraordinary people, which I believe is essential. I absolutely love to meet new people, whether they are high and successful, or low and need a hand. It is so important to understand the people we share this world with. Everyone I know that took this class said it helped them get closer to their major decision. I need that help! Also, anybody in my family has had a career so I don’t have as much support from them to achieve mine. I am currently taking this class because it is required so I can transfer to university. My goal is to become a nurse and do what I always loved to do help others. Also, my major goal is to always encourage my daughter to study. My dream is to become successful and achieve my goals. My current educational goal is to finish my associate in college, so I can transfer to university.

I'm interested in taking this course so I can learn some new skills that's going to help me later in the future and that it prepares me for a organized path to reach my goals which is to finish from Cuyamaca College and transfer to SDSU.

  73. Hello everyone! My name is Dina Nasrawi, I'm 21 years old and was born and raised here in San Diego. I'm a movie fanatic and enjoy going to see new movies a few times a month. I especially love foreign films and indie movies. I would probably have to say my favorite movie of all time would be a walk to remember or Casa Blanca. I'm currently majoring in nursing and moving to Portland, Oregon in December so I can get my residency before applying to transfer to nursing schools. I feel like I was born in the wrong town because I hate sunny San Diego (hope no one hates me for saying that!) I love Oregon because it's such an awesome place to live and rains more then half the year! I hope to one day be able to graduate from nursing school and then go for my masters then eventually find a job in Boston, Massachusetts. I love to travel and also hope to travel the world after college if I save enough. My dream place would defiantly be Ireland because of all the beautiful greenery and culture.

  74. When looking through my educational path, I've always felt very conflicted on what exactly I wanted to do with my life. When I was younger I dreamt of being a chef. I would watch cooking shows everyday after school and when my mother wasn't home I would try to use the recipes and create them, but my parents are practical people in a way and didn't agree with my choices. I grew older I started agreeing with them and that led me into he profession of nursing, maternal nursing in particular I finished high school in 2013 at West Hills High School and didn't know what school I wanted to go to or if I could even get in so I ended up going to Grossmont college first. This would be my fifth complete semester at Grossmont and hopefully second to last. I am hopefully transferring to the University of Portland in the Fall of 2017 to be able to get my BSN and then go on to get my masters to further my education. I want to continue education and always keep learning, because even as you grow older you are always learning new things.

  75. Hi everyone!
My name is Carlene Basallo and I am just about two weeks away from turning 23. I was born in the Philippines until I was about 7 and then moved to Kansas because my dad was stationed there for the Army. I moved here to San Diego when I was 8, and my family and I have lived here ever since. I am an only child, but have two chihuahuas that I call my sisters. I have a large family due to being a part of an organization called BIBAK San Diego. It’s helped me and my parents meet distant relatives and family members here in San Diego. I enjoy the outdoors, especially during summertime where I can snorkel and stand up paddle board. I love to travel and I currently have a little bit of the travel bug since I will be visiting three places within the next four months. I work as a personal assistant, and I absolutely love that I’m able to have flexible hours to work with my school schedule. My major is biochemistry and so far it has been a tough road. I’m hoping that taking this class will help me figure out what I truly want to pursue.

  76. I went to school in San Diego for most of my life since I moved from the Philippines to Kansas to here. When I was younger I wanted to become a teacher like my dad’s mother, but I changed my mind and wanted to become a marine biologist instead. I went to Valhalla High School, enjoyed being a band geek, but wasn’t focused on what I wanted for a career until about my senior year where my dad suggested I go into Pharmacy. I enjoyed chemistry and thought that I should go for it. I didn’t end up going out of state for college since my parents wanted me to stay local, so I decided to attend Cuyamaca and Grossmont Community College. It’s been four years since I started college and some may say that I should have graduated or transferred to a university already, but that hasn’t happened. Within the past 4 years, my interests have changed and my passion for pharmacy has decreased. After taking this class, I hope that I either change my major to something I truly want to pursue or stick with pharmacy because I rediscover why I pursued it in the first place.

  77. Hi guys! My name is Taylor McClean and I am here to learn some stuff! During the day I go to school and during the evenings I work at a sandwich shop. For fun I enjoy fishing, reading, and taking naps. Some of my favorite things are cats, manta rays, a show called Shameless, and my best friend Alexis. I have one dog and one cat, my dog is named Joedy and my cat is named Mazey. Joedy is an American Bulldog and is 8 years old. My family is very important to me and I prioritize them more than anything. That's about it, thank you for reading :)

After changing my major several times I finally decided upon a major at the end of last semester and I have decided upon Dental Hygiene and am taking this class as a requirement to get into a different college. In one year I will be transferring to Southwestern college into the dental hygiene program. My goal for this class is to reassure myself that I make the right decision on my major and to learn better skills as a student.

  80. Hello everyone!
My name is Jennica Andrabado and I am a full time student at Cuyamaca College. I am currently in the process of cross-enrolling at state to participate in their marching band, the Marching Aztecs! I have been marching for seven years, going on eight, so music and marching has become a part of me. Since entering college, it helps keep my involved in music mostly because I have not taken a music class since high school. Long story short, I'm an Aztec-Coyote! Other than that, I love all things Disney and my favorite place in the world is the Disneyland Resort. Who could not be happy in the happiest place on Earth? Luckily, I have unknowingly surrounded myself with wonderful people who also love Disney as much as I do.

  81. Hello, again!
My educational journey has basically kept me here in Rancho San Diego, going to elementary school, middle school, high school, and college basically in the same neighborhood. I am taking this class because I feel like I have spent a good amount of time at Cuyamaca already and I am finally ready to focus in on what I really want to do by picking a major and figuring out what I want to do with my life. I hope to transfer from Cuyamaca to somewhere that I can further my education. UCI would be fun, but I am letting their proximity to the Disneyland Resort sway my opinion a bit. Ultimately, I hope that I can help others in the future and along my journey to getting where I want to be.

  83. The way that i motivate myself is through looking at the big picture, looking at what i would like to achieve in life and what I want to see myself doing in my life. By always thinking of this it has always let my ambitions carry me. Another way i motivate myself is by having a strong driven mindset by doing this ill always be motivated to do better and better, this has helped me achieve goals that i had never believed that i would be able to receive in life.

  84. There will always be road blocks in a journey of success, but that's what makes the journey a success. What i do when i go through tough times is that i try to stay focused and show determined to achieve a goal that and help myself come on top. When road blocks hit me in tough times i always look at the bright side and sometimes change routes and continue my journey and i believe that success will come if you put in the work, what you put in you will get out.

  85. I motivate myself to be successful simply by reminding myself what life could be like without being successful...not very fun! In a world full of so much demand, I must have strength in education because I know that it will take me so much farther in life than the "easy road". Something that was very interesting to me what learning about "worry time". I think that is such a good idea, but also so weird! I never would have thought your mind could actually push aside worries until a later time, at an "appointment". I also do not think I would drop out of this class or college because I know I need college to hep me succeed in life. Sure, you can be successful by not going to college, but my education is very important to me. One roadblock to my success would be time management. Sometimes I forget I have an assignment due, but it's not that I do not want to do the assignment, but rather I feel as though I put other things in the way.

  86. Starting college is not what I expected. I have always assumed that it would be incredibly difficult, but it is actually exactly at my level. I am, however, nervous that I do not know what my major is right now. Everyone seems to know exactly what their plan is and they seem to be doing just fine on following it. Sometimes, I feel as though I'm unprepared for college even though I know I am prepared. Is it normal to now know what I want to have a job in yet? I feel like I'm the only one! But, right now, I'm just going to try to build the foundation for a high GPA... I know that will help me later on when I need it.

  87. There have been multiple times I have contemplated about dropping out of college, but in the end I didn’t make the decision to. One of the more important reasons is that I don’t want to disappoint my parents. They are the number one reason why I am living here in the United States and getting a better education. My parents are my motivation to continue school because my dad wasn’t able to get a great education when he was in the Philippines. Achieving a better quality of life in the end is another motivating factor for me. I feel that with success comes rewards. The more you work hard towards something the better the outcome, also. Self-motivation is an important factor to continue school. I have to be able to want to go to school not because others want me to. In the end, I want to continue school because I know it is the best choice for me in the long run.

  88. One roadblock to my success is procrastination. I tend to procrastinate on homework and projects because I tell myself that I can finish it at a later time. In order to overcome this or change this habit, I need to allow myself to work on homework right after it is assigned or set a certain time every day to work on it. Another roadblock is feeling defeated when it is nearing the end of a semester and I can't reach the grade that I want. I sometimes shut down and don't try as hard to finish the semester strong. One way to overcome this is to think about the positive outcomes of trying my hardest on my finals. I believe that by slowly changing these habits or behaviors, I will be able to succeed in school.

  89. Hi every one! I no I'm late in the game but I made it! My name is Whitney Glos and Ill be turning 35 on the 14th of September. I have five beautiful , smart , enthusiastic children ages 15, 12, 4, 3, and 1, all girls except for my one son who is the three year old ! I am a home maker and care taker of all things that surround me, which is a curse and blessing rapped in one, i love my children and my family with all my heart and would do any thing to make sure our future is safe and secure . When i was younger I had multiple hobbies and interest. As I get older and realized the things that were so fun and important to me just aren't as fun nor important! I would say whats important to me is my family's happiness , safety , and security. The things I would consider hobbies I'm not necessarily convinced any one else would think of them as hobbies! Cooking and baking with my children is probably my very favorite, but I am so very passionate about animals. Before I was pregnant with my four year old I worked in the veterinarian world and it was a big part of my life!! Now I'm so so set on achieving some personal long time goals in my life and to show my 15, and 12 year old that school is the up most importance and it doesn't matter whats going on in your life you can always achieve what you set your mind to! Hope that helps to get to no just a little bit about myself and my family.

  90. HI again! well although my education back ground is poor and under developed I still have big hopes and dreams for myself and my family! I dropped out of high school, I attended in Chicago Ill, in the beginning of my Jr. year to help my family out with day care and to also work full time. I didn't decided to go and actually get my G.E.D until I was 22. I thought because its been so long since I'v actually attended school it would be the smartest thing for me to do to take a course that taught me how to learn the right way for the environment that I would be in! I'm very excited to finally be strong enough to go after my dreams and goals of being a social worker for inner city children or low income family's! Its going to feel amazing when all is said and done and i have actually achieved and found a job that i so desire! It'll be the the best day ever next to having all my babies! I cant wait to be so proud of myself....I can honestly say I have been proud of other people but I have never really been proud of myself and I cant wait to see wait that actually feels like!

My personality type was mostly judging but what that means is that i basically am a person who likes to not mess around, i like getting to the point and finishing many things that need to be completed, i do not like to let distractions get in way because what ends up happening is that people get in my way or other not important matters appear and cause me to fall back so basically i like to achieve get things done then do my own thing later.

    1. That is very interesting to hear lance! We have the judging characteristic in common. And i as well do not like to mess around either. I do not like it when people stall and take long to get their point across me it bugs me as much as the next person. I am a very busy man with many things to be taken care of, i'm sure you'd agree as well. And distractions are worst, they keep you from doing your work and are always bugging you, those are the worst people i can completely relate to you on that concept. And yea do your own thing thats very important if you want to fail in life, you need your friends and family to keep help you. Make sure you dont ditch them for just anybody you just met. Anyways great concept good work! thanks for your insight!

  94. For being a sensing type, I like to learn from experience. Meaning if someone tells me not to do something, I usually do it anyways until I myself find reasons why it shouldn’t be done. I prefer to work in practical situations that will benefit my future and knowledge and be able to distribute that into the real world. I usually stay more focused and on track with a full list of directions and step-by-step instructions rather than having the freedom to do a task however I want mostly because, from past experiences, when I’ve been told what to do without any instructions, I find it hard to satisfy the person giving me the task because I complete it on way, while they had a different view on it. So, I would like to be given specific directions on completing something when working on something.

  97. My generation is considered to be the new millennial, this generation is considered to be this due to the fact that we are a new age of technology we are on a breakpoint that has our generation being controlled by technology, this may be a great thing but also may be a threat to our generation. Our generation will be effected the future heavily when it comes to jobs and careers due to the fact that the economy is not in such a stable place right now, only time can tell exactly what will happen and what types of jobs will be in demand most likely it will be jobs having to do with tech or even biological advancements, this is what our future is looking like right now but there will be major shifts and hopefully its in our favor.

  98. I had went onto indeed.com and tried to search up jobs that related to my major. Although i did find quite a lot of jobs, hardly any seemed to match my major of computer engineering. So curiously i decieded to go to apple.com and search my major up and surprisingly there are of 500 jobs matching my job title of computer engineering around the country which is amazing. When I had seen that my face lit up. After snooping around i went back to indeed and saw a job at best buy as a sales representative which i could eventually get moved to an engineer after college, as well as a Microsoft computer engineer i was really interested about. I was really glad to see that my specific major was so popular and well known it really made me feel like this is the study i need to be in, not only because its my personal interest but it is also my generation. After reading chapter 4 i realized many different facts that i hadn't known before, specifically about technology. I was very surprised to learn that technology information was the number one leading job in the country. That is great to hear considering my position. Overall after going onto indeed and exploring my major i am eased and relieved to say i am following the right way to my career.
