My overall evaluation of this class and professor was outstanding. It was a great experience taking this online class. The course was easy to follow and straight to the point. I would definitely recommend this class to ALL students to take. You are a fantastic professor who obviously cares about education and success. The fact that you wrote the curriculum and materials shows that you have chosen to dedicate your professional life to the success of others, and that is remarkable.
ReplyDeleteStarting my second semester here at Cuyamaca College was nerve racking, because I am 38 years old and have not been in school for over 20 years. Each class I take fills me with a little apprehension. Can I still learn like I used to when I was young?
I was familiar with some of the assessments we took, and after seeing at the results, it confirmed what I believed to be true for myself. This class did not only give me more confidence in succeeding as a student but as a partner and a mother.
I had a different major in mind when I started this class. The assignment to write about this major and career, as well as some of our assessments, confirmed that I was in the wrong major. Meeting with my counselor helped a TON! I don't think I would have actually done that, and now I want to talk to my counselor about once per semester, to make sure I'm on track.
I look forward to my new education goals, and no longer see it as a necessary evil to get through in order to get to a job I'm equally unenthusiastic about. I will enjoy my classes, and embrace the new things I'm learning. I am going to be mindful, and appreciate the moment.
Thank you again, Professor Fralick, for creating this class and teaching us how to be successful in college and beyond. This was a great experience and looking forward to creating my exciting future!

DeleteI especially enjoyed and found useful the parts of the class that helped me learn about myself, like the section on personalities. I also really appreciated meeting with the counselor to make my education plan. That was hugely instrumental to my plan. I enjoyed all sections of the online learning, but found the journaling portion somewhat tedious for the sections that were more informative and not specific to me. The journals felt like I was just re-typing what I'd just read instead of reflecting on new information. I also really liked gathering specific information about my major and potential careers. I really took advantage of that paper and learned a ton. This class really guided me to firm up my plans! I changed my major!

DeleteWhat I loved about this class was how much it helped me decided on my major, before this I had no clue what I wanted to major in and I felt lost with no help at all but this class changed things around for me and made it easy for me, not to mention how much weight it took off my shoulders. I was super happy this class made us do an educational plan because it really does help make things clearer for us and really helps you get organized with our future planning. Not only did it help me with my major it helped me learn a little bit more about myself and my personality type. I also loved how easy this class was to follow and understand, everyhitng was explained perfectly and I never had any problems not understanding something because it wasn't explained right. Everything was planned perfectly which made it very easy on me to follow this class and get good grades because of how organized the weeks work was and everything was explained properly. At the end of this class I gained more confidence in myself and I know I am up for any challenges because this class helped me find my major which was what was really stressing me out starting college. After this I know what I have to do to prepare myself for my future life and If I wouldn't have taken this class I would still have all this weight on my shoulders. ReplyDeleteI'm really glad that I took your class because I have learned so many things because of you and your assignments. I used to be so negative in my life and now I feel so positive. I also like your comments on my assignments because this is the only class I get these good comments on. However, your class helped me a lot for many reasons. At first when I saw the College and carrer succees I kind of felt it was too much of work, but later on when I used to read the articles I learned a lot, and espcially I liked the blogs that we used to write because I used to write my stories because half of them were related to me. I could say this class changed me to a postive and better person. The rate obvisouly would be 10/10 or 100/100. Professor, I only know you behind the computer and the videos you posted, but you are truly one of my favorite teachers. All thanks goes to you! Overall, this is my evaluation for this class. DeleteI made a lot of progress after this course. I learned a lot and everything I did for the first evaluation I improved by the end of the class. I really enjoyed the class all together, I really liked that I could do the work on my own time and that the class was online. I really enjoyed the way things were taught in the class because I was able to learn and comprehend everything.I really liked how we got to read a little bit of the material and then we would have to answer questions about what we just read or we had a quiz on it half way through. Instead of having a huge quiz and a ton of questions at the end. I really liked that Dr. Fralick would grade our assignments really fast and get back to us if we had any questions or concerns. I think Dr. Fralick was an amazing instructor she graded our assignments really fast and kept up with our grades. She really was their if we had any questions. I accidentally sent one of my assignments in a wrong format where it was not readable but she sent me a message telling me to email her the assignment for full credit. Also I was unable to get a counseling appointment before one of the assignments were due and she was totally understanding and let me turn in the assignment later. You were an amazing professor I really enjoyed working with you over the semester. Thank you!

DeleteI really loved this class and I found it very useful and it helps me to learn many things such as my personality type , how make my education plan , and how to be ready for the test and many other things I find them useful in this class also I learn when I want to study any chapter first I take notes . this help me to remember what is important and which things is not know I used to use summary sheets for every thing it is very useful before I take this class I have difficulties to understand anything but know I learn to research or see examples to understand anything in my classes I would recommend this class to all students to take and this class changed thing around me. this class not just helps me with my major at the same time I like how easy this class was when I saw college and career success I feel it was too much work to do so I was so afraid if I could pass it or not . I found it pretty useful, and definitely gave me a better idea of what major is best for my personality type… However my major is still interesting to me and conflicts with my “personality type”.

DeleteTaking this course was very helpful, I got to learn a lot from it, I loved how each week we had a different topic to read and share our thoughts with other students. This class is very helpful for us students, from this online course I gained more confidence in myself and I learned how to motivate myself to push myself harder to achieve my goals. I learned how to manage my time, and how to be good at taking tests, how to manage time and how to be healthy, all these topics are important for students. Thank you professor Fralick for this amazing course, I was very organized I had no trouble understanding this course, easy instructions and fun topics every week, you graded everything quick, very helpful class and I would it recommend to new college students so they start their education with good motivation

DeleteAfter completing College and Career I felt more confident in myself. My goals are alive and more powerful. I feel more positive. This makes me want to tackle every opportunity I have. I never thought taking this course would help me this much. Also helped me find my career I want to do. This class was the best I have ever taken. I will tell my friends who have not taken this course to take it. They are missing out on a course that will benefit them in college. This course will also help with life. This course has helped me make life decisions and with life. It helped me rise above and truly find who I was. After taking the personality test I was an introvert. This means I would keep to myself and be private but after a couple months I turned into an extrovert I like talking to people learning new stuff. This is great because I can learn stuff that could help me with my life. This class was amazing. The instructor was great everything was thought out and organized. I would rate this course 10 out of 10. It was a fun semester to have this class.

DeleteTo stat off I really loved this class. I honestly learned a lot about myself that I never knew like the type of personality I have to the way I study. it was an eye opening course. It was useful to me because I learned just better ways to be successful in college and my future career. I think this class is great the way it is and shouldn't change. I liked using E- Text and career center It was so helpful and very easy to use and it made this class overall just easier to work through when everything is so organized and easy to use. I really liked the personality assessment.

I really liked the MI advantage because it was really cool to find out the results. This class helped me understand what major I really wanted and helped me confirm that I am on the right path to success. This class help me succeed more to become more successful in my courses. This course is outstanding and I have already recommened friends of mine to take this course who I saw kind of struggling in college and didn't really know what they wanted to do. DeleteI really enjoyed this class, it allowed me to further explore myself and find out things I did not know otherwise. One thing I liked was figuring out if I was an introvert or extravert because I was always confused between the two. Another thing I enjoyed was finding out my personality type and what jobs suit me most. A few suggestions is that I did feel like the journals and blogs did repeat the same question a couple times. Also, some of the journals I feel were not beneficial to my learning because the questions were so obvious with the answer or really did not need to be written down. This class did not help me choose my major because I have been set on it for a while now but it did make me even more certain that Business is what I want to do because now I know myself better and what I want to do with my future. In addition, the assignment that helped a lot is the academic plan because now I can keep track of my progress, what classes I have taken, and what classes I need. Overall, I really enjoyed this class and am very thankful for Professor Fralick for being such a productive, informative teacher, and always commenting on her students progress.

DeleteI signed up for this course because I was really nervous about going back to school. I knew I was doing the right thing but lacked the confidence to really believe I would be successful. This course has been a great way to get accustomed to blackboard and to gain confidence in college. There has been lots of helpful information along the way. I think the most helpful assignment was when we were instructed to meet with a college counselor for an educational plan. This was not something I would have decided to do on my own, but it was extremely helpful for me. I appreciated the supportive nature of our professor and I felt the Etext was a wonderful experience. I appreciated how user-friendly it was! I liked how the journal entries were embedded in the text and that we could save our answers and go back and forth through the text as needed. I loved the unit on personality types, and appreciated the helpful tips about sleep, study skills and different intelligences. I loved that the discussion boards were so positive. I am sad to see this course come to an end. I am thankful I took it. The write up in the college catalogue was what drew me to this course-I am sure glad it did.

ReplyDeleteCounseling 120 has taught me so much about the future and it also taught me more about my major. When I started the first chapter I knew that this course was going to teach me something different and it did. I love learning new this. If someone was struggling on deciding what they want to major in I think this class would be great for them. Not only it would help them with their major but it would also help them with their future. This class also taught me about my personality type. Going into this class I was not sure what my personality type was because I tend to be every type depending on my mood. But now I know what my personality type is. My favorite part was having a new topic to read every week and having to write in our blog. I also enjoyed doing those little activities during each chapter. Professor Fralick, thank you for all those nice comments you would leave on our page. Most professors would just give us a grade but I liked how you took your time and wrote us a comment. This was a fun course and I recommend everyone to take counseling 120 with you.

DeleteWhen I first signed up for this class, I took it mostly for a filler class to keep me at a full-time student status. It was a bonus that it had good reviews from my friends who had taken this class. They thoroughly enjoyed it and said that they appreciated what it had to offer them for further insight to who they are and how they can be successful in many aspects of their lives. I personally thanked each of them for recommending this class to me.
ReplyDeleteThe e-text was enjoyable to read, which is much more than I can say about other texts that I have had the absolute pleasure of glazing over. It was up-to-date and current which also made it enjoyable to read.
Another thing that I owe to this class was affirming that I am in the right major for what I am interested in and enjoy learning about. I have face many less-than-savory encounters with adults around my parents' age who were and are skeptical of what I can do with such a degree, but I will not falter in what I love and aspire to achieve with my major and future degree,
This was an outstanding class that I honestly recommend to all my friends still here in the community college system. It was a great way to take a step back and think about things objectively and to put things in a bit of a different perspective. For you, Dr. Fralick, you easily get a 5/5 rating from me. You were genuinely interested in what we wrote and gave honest, useful, and substantial feedback to our assignments and blog posts. DeleteWhen I first signed up for this class, I wasn't expecting to get much out of it. I was completely wrong. This class has allowed me to figure out what my passion is and what I want to pursue for a career. It has helped me more than any class that I have taken and I am so thankful. I know that I didn't do as well as I should have and I know that I'm at fault for that. This class has helped me find out more about myself also. I really enjoyed learning about different techniques of studying and learning about my personality. The MI Advantage really showed that the Arts is one of my strengths and it verifies that I should pursue something in that area. I really enjoyed this class and would recommend it to anyone, whether or not they know what their career path is.

DeleteI am very grateful I took this course. I loved that you were genuinely interested in helping us achieve success because you knew we needed the help. I still am unsure to what I want to major in but I am definitely closer than I was. I am less scared and worried than I was as well. I loved how comfortable I was sharing with you what was on my mind and when I seemed worried, you helped me remember that I am not alone and I have plenty of time to decide what path I want to take. I have used the tips and tricks in memorization and understanding in my courses and I know they will help me for years to come. I cannot thank you enough for all the kind words of encouragement I needed to hear from you in a time of need. It's a weird transition from high school into college, especially when all of my friends moved out of town. I definitely found some mutuals in this class and I am very grateful for that. ReplyDeleteMy personality type is INFP and my personal communication style is more on the side of extrovert because I like to talk without being held back of What I should say or not. I tend to be open and enjoy my conversation with the other person, but if I have a relationship with this person. Other than that, I am more feeler type which means I like to express my emotions, but I don't like to express too many of emotions. I keep thinking and feeling balance when I am talking to someone because it is logical and expressive. I mostly like to be in between of these all personal types because I think it balances your communication style. But, It is hard for me to start a conversation with people. I tend to be more like waiting for people to come up and talk to me. I get so nervous when I start talking to anyone that I like as a friend because I over think. I have fear of asking people what I want or need of help from them. It has been an issue of mine, but after reading this chapter, I got to have ideas on how to fix it. I will try to talk to people first and I will ask people if I need of help.

DeleteI am really glad that I chose to take this class for my first semester. I really learned a lot about who I am personality wise and as well as to what kind of jobs fit who I am. The DWYA was pretty cool because, I learned about myself and the different traits. Such as I am an Introvert and that tells a lot of what kind of person I am and the way I act. It also taught me things I could improve on. I jus think that is cool knowing who I am and being able to look for jobs that are fitting for my personality traits. Taking this class I feel that I learned things that I will take with me through out college such as being a happier person, getting things done on time, being open minded, and many more. Also, after taking the post test it showed improvement on all of the things which made me feel that I learned more than I thought I would from this class. I really liked this class and having you as a teacher was great. This class helped guide me in college and my future.

DeleteTo be honest what i have liked most about this course is that we get that chance week in and week out to become better as person and this class teaches us new ways every week to improve our lifestyles in college but also outside of college. I have no suggestions upon improving the class i would suggest that we do less blogs thats maybe it. My view of e-text was pretty cool because we got to test ourselves and see how we are as a person and week could see what we could improve on and we saw where the strengths and weak points were at. The type of person i was is introvert and judger those were my two strongest characteristics. The assessment was accurate and i saw that i needed improvement in some areas but overall i was seen as a pretty motivated individual due to the goals and standards i have set for myself. The class taught me that for my major i need to take it slowly and pace myself for a long future ahead of me. i feel as if the class did help me become more successful in college because it taught me new was to do things in college life. As a professor your an awesome teacher and i would be more then happy to take your class again. Great Class!
